Well Sunshine's thirst for victory lane was squenched at Susquehanna Speedway! After days of craving a taste of victory lane, the 23c brought some Sunshine to victory lane on the final night of the Eastern Storm series.
Sunshine qualified well to start off the evening, 5th out of 24 cars. Heat races went just as they should, with Tyler finishing 3rd in his heat and transferring to the Feature. With a great qualifying round, Sunshine started in the front row for the Feature, setting him up for a perfect ride to victory lane. The race was a nail biter, with first and second place toggling back and forth between T-Mez and Sunshine in the final laps. With one lap to go and running second, Sunshine pulled a slider on T-Mez out of turn 2 and jumped in front of him to take a ride all the way to victory lane.
“This is the right time of year to get your momentum going,” said Courtney in an interview with USAC Racing after the vicotry. “It’s a big points part of the season for our championship hopes. To have two good weeks like this is huge. Hopefully we can keep this success rolling throughout the rest of the summer.”
We can't wait to see what the rest of the summer holds!
