The team packed up and headed to Eldora Speedway for the #LetsRaceTwo events with USAC National Sprints and the World of Outlaw series. Unlike last year, Sunshine only raced the USAC sprint this year, with hopes of getting a win.
Night one qualifying didn't go as great as expected, qualifying 19 out of 31 cars. However, the heat race had a great run with Tyler winning his heat race and transferring to the Feature. By the time the Feature rolled around, the team was ready to go and Tyler knew he had some work ahead of him to make it to the front. Sunshine ended up finishing 9th in the Feature for night one.
Night two qualifying was better than the previous night, with Tyler qualifying 10 out of 23 cars. He placed 4th in his heat to transfer directly to the Feature. With the field a bit smaller than night one, Tyler had a better start position but still some work to make it to the front of the pack. After some rough racing, including a violent wreck with Dallas Hewitt that sent him to the hospital, Sunshine managed to pull out a 5th place finish.
Next up: Friday, May 19th at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL for #RivertownShowdown
