TYLER “SUNSHINE” COURTNEY TEAMS UP WITH TOPP MOTORSPORTS FOR 2017 USAC SPRINT CAR SEASON

Rochester, IN – After a year of gaining experience together in the World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions and USAC AMSOIL National Sprint car circuits, Tyler “Sunshine” Courtney and TOPP Motorsports have decided to continue their partnership and will be taking on the full USAC AMSOIL National Sprint car circuit for 2017 in the 23c car, with their eyes set on the championship.

In their first year together in 2016, Courtney was among the top ten highest average finishers for the USAC National Sprint Car series, with an average finish of 6.68, while only participating in 19 races last season. Courtney earned his first USAC Sprint Car win in July 2016 at I-69 Gas City Speedway.

“We gained a lot of knowledge and experience in our first year as a race team,” said Kevin Birchmeier, owner of TOPP Motorsports. “Tyler had his first win in the USAC car last year and we know that there are many more to be had with the support of our team. We’re looking forward to competing in all of the USAC races with Sunshine behind the wheel.”

“Being a part of TOPP Motorsports team has been such a great experience,” said Courtney. “I can’t thank Kevin Birchmeier enough for giving me the opportunity last year and I’m really looking forward to running the full USAC schedule next year with the same team. Our crew chief, Mark, and the rest of the team really work hard and I’m excited to see how next year turns out. We’ve got our eyes set on that championship.”
